How do I renew my driver's license in North Carolina?

Ava's answer
NCDMV lets eligible drivers renew a Class C license online or at a kiosk, alternating with in-person renewals.
- Check eligibility: Online up to six months before or two years after expiration; suspensions, certain restrictions or Class A/B need a visit.
- Alternating rule: Non-REAL ID licenses can renew online twice in a row; REAL ID only if a photo was updated in person since.
- Choose method: Online/kiosk, in person, or mail once in a lifetime if temporarily out of state 30+ days.
- Pay fees: Online adds a $3 transaction fee plus 1.85% card processing.
- Find an official office if you need to go in person: Use the agency's official office finder: https://www.ncdot.gov/dmv/offices-services/Pages/default.aspx
