How do I change my address in Minnesota?

Ava's answer
Minnesota requires an office visit to change the address on a license or ID. Vehicle records are separate and can be updated online in MyDVS or at a deputy registrar.

Online or in person
Steps
5 steps
- Update within 60 days: Or 30 days for commercial drivers.
- Change your license/ID in person: Apply for a duplicate or renewal at an office with your current card and the fee; pre-apply online to save time.
- REAL ID cards: Standard cards need no proof of address; REAL ID cards need two proofs of residence.
- Update your vehicle separately: A license change doesn't update vehicle records. Use MyDVS or a deputy registrar office.
- Address rules: A PO box can't be your residence address. DVS mail isn't forwarded, so update USPS too.
