Ava's answer
South Dakota lets you change your license/ID address online, by mail or at a driver exam station. Vehicle registration addresses are handled separately by your county treasurer or the state's online vehicle portal.

Steps
6 steps
- Check you can do it online: Online or mail works if your license/ID hasn't expired and your last renewal or replacement wasn't online/mail. Expired more than 30 days needs an in-person visit and knowledge test.
- Change it online: Create an SD.gov login and complete the change of address; upload any required documents or mail them.
- Or in person: Any driver exam station; appointments recommended, walk-ins welcome.
- Your new card: Online/mail cards arrive in 4-6 weeks. Mailing paper documents can slow it down.
- Update your vehicle separately: Through your county treasurer or the state's online Vehicle Registration & Plates portal.
- Questions: Driver Licensing: dpsdl@state.sd.us or (605) 773-6883. Motor Vehicle Division: (605) 773-3541.
