How do I change my address in New York?

Ava's answer
New York requires updating the address on your license, permit, ID and vehicle registration within 10 days. MyDMV is easiest; a Postal Service change doesn't update DMV.

Steps
6 steps
- Report within 10 days: Change your address on your license, permit, non-driver ID and vehicle records within 10 days of moving.
- Use MyDMV: Sign up with your NY license, permit or ID and Social Security number, then choose 'Change My Address' and 'Enter and Verify'.
- Other ways: By phone, mail or at a DMV office.
- No new card needed: Write the new address on the back of your license/ID/permit and on the front of your registration (cross out the old one). Never write on a title.
- Your title record updates too: Changing your registration address also updates the title record. If your name doesn't match the title, call Title Services at 1-518-486-4714.
- Tell USPS separately: The Postal Service doesn't notify DMV.
