How do I change my address in New Mexico?

Ava's answer
New Mexico requires notifying MVD within 10 days of moving. The online change or Change of Address form updates your vehicle, driver and ID records; a card with the new address needs an office visit and the license fee.

Steps
5 steps
- Report within 10 days: Sections 66-3-23 and 66-5-22 NMSA require notifying MVD within 10 days.
- Change it online or by form: Use MVD's online option, or sign the Change of Address Request Form and fax it to 505-827-0977 or mail it to MVD Data Entry Unit, P.O. Box 630, Santa Fe, NM 87504-0630.
- Records update, not your card: The change updates your vehicle, driver and ID records but not the printed card.
- New card in person: Visit an MVD Field Office, get a new photo and pay the license fee ($18 for 4 years, $34 for 8 years).
- Before renewing registration: Update your address first; you can also write it on a mailed renewal notice.
