Ava's answer
Montana requires notifying MVD within 10 days. Updating your record online or by form is free; a card showing the new address needs an office visit and fee.

Steps
5 steps
- Within 10 days: Notify MVD's Driver Services Bureau within 10 days.
- Update your record (free): Online, or mail form 34-0300.
- New card: Book a driver license station appointment and pay the replacement fee. REAL ID holders must get a replacement with a proof of residency.
- Your vehicle: Update online in MVD Online Services or with the county form; a combined form updates both.
- Moving counties?: Plates stay valid until your annual renewal; update then. Permanently registered vehicles need no action.
