Ava's answer
Alaska DMV lets residents update their address online for both driver licenses/IDs and vehicle registrations, but the two record types are separate and must each be updated. State law requires notifying DMV of an address change within 30 days.

Steps
6 steps
- Report within 30 days: By law (AS 28.05.071) you must notify DMV within 30 days of moving or changing your mailing address.
- Use the online change-of-address system: Anyone can change address online through the DMV online change of address system. Records are separate, so enter details for each driver license and each vehicle you want updated.
- License and vehicles don't sync: Changing your driver license address does not change your vehicle record address, and vice versa.
- A new license card is optional: To get a replacement card showing the new address, submit Form D1 (Application for Driver License, Permit or State ID) and pay the current license fee; a vision test may be required.
- Registration card: A new registration is not required. You can write the new address on your current registration, or get a duplicate registration for $2.00.
- If you can't finish online: Contact DMV by phone (Anchorage 907-269-5551, toll-free in-state 855-269-5551).
