- Fill out Form DL-99: The Driver License or Identification Card Change of Address form (DL-99) updates the address on your license/ID record at no charge.
- Add proof of your new address: Include a photocopy of one document showing the new residential address, such as a bill, voter registration card, vehicle registration, lease/mortgage or insurance document.
- CDL holders: Commercial license holders can only update their mailing address with this form.
- Mail the form: Mail the signed form to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Driver License Division, PO Box 1471, Montgomery AL 36102-1471.
- No new card is issued: The form updates your record only; it does not produce a new license or ID.
- Update your vehicle separately: Vehicles are registered through the license plate issuing office in the county where you live, per the Alabama Department of Revenue. Contact that office to update vehicle records.
